The Lovecraft Bar & Lounge is no more,
having shut down several years ago. It was a local dive
whose pierced and dissolute clientele came out of the
woodwork only after 1 a.m. The owner knew little of Lovecraft
and was somewhat mystified as to why anyone would ascribe
significance to the name. No longer can Houston claim
to be host to the only Lovecraftian bar in existence.
The site is now The Blue Door Art Studio.

                    I made it last night in a dream of strange cities;
                    and dreams are older than brooding Tyre, or the
                    contemplative Sphinx, or garden-girdled Babylon.
